How This Calculator Works

This calculator estimates three stacked incentive layers available in 2026: HEAR rebates (income-qualified, state-administered), the federal 25C tax credit (30% of cost, available to all), and utility rebates (varies by provider). The HEAR rebate is subtracted from your cost first, then the 25C applies to the remaining balance up to the program cap.

#1
HEAR Rebate
Applied first. Income-qualified households below 150% AMI receive rebates at the point of installation — deducted from contractor invoice.
#2
25C Tax Credit
30% of remaining cost up to the annual cap. Claimed on Form 5695 at tax time. No income limit. Nonrefundable.
#3
Utility Rebate
Separate program from your electric utility. Check before purchasing — amounts and eligibility vary. Stack on top of HEAR and 25C.
