Efficiency Vermont is the nation's first statewide energy efficiency utility — funded by all Vermont electric ratepayers, available to all. Heat pumps up to $1,200, weatherization up to $2,000+, EV rebates up to $5,000. Stack with Vermont HEAR and federal 25C for $11,200+ on a heat pump.
Efficiency Vermont (EVT) was established in 2000 as the nation's first statewide energy efficiency utility — a model that has since been replicated in several other states. It is administered by the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) under contract with the Vermont Public Utility Commission.
EVT is funded through a small charge on all Vermont electric bills — so all Vermont residents and businesses are ratepayers and can access its programs regardless of which electric utility serves them (Green Mountain Power, Burlington Electric Department, or Vermont Electric Cooperative). There is no income requirement for most standard EVT rebates, though enhanced rebates exist for lower-income households.
